About Ali

My father once said "you really should be writing all this stuff down." I didn't. I waited 7 years and started a blog.

My name is Ali. I'm in my 30s. I'm a full time working mom.

You might consider this a "mom blog," because, if you couldn't tell already, I AM a mom and this IS a blog, but I'm going down kicking and screaming.

Yes, I write about my kids, but you're not going to find anything touching (rarely) or inspirational (never gonna happen) here. I write the words "wanna" and "gonna" a lot. I say them, so why not?

I married my high school sweetheart 12 years ago. He's foxy, a wonderful father and a hard-worker. He also drives me absolutely batty. He's the one whose genes gave me three blond kids.

I often think to myself that I've never done anything good enough in my life to deserve the three wonderful, nutty children that I've been blessed with.

Yes, they give me a lot to think about which translates to blog material and most days, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm still holding out for that winning lottery ticket and "child mute button," but until that day comes (because I think it will be on the same day) I'll take my life as it is. Perfectly wacked out just the way I've grown accustomed.

Two things I say all the time: "I'm not Mother Earth" and "Motherhood is a career decision." I am reminded of these two things daily.

I started writing My Suitcase Full of Tricks after family and friends said that my Facebook status updates were worthy of a book (or a reality show). Let's be realistic, a blog is more my speed.

I LOVE getting comments on my blog posts, that way I know I'm not just writing them for my own kicks and giggles (but I kinda am).

And by the way, like all new bloggers, we sincerely appreciate new blog followers so we don't feel totally lame. So go over there on the left and click away.
